NWCT Arts Council and Discover Litchfield Hills Partner to Co-brand Calendar

NWCT Arts Council • May 27, 2020

The two organizations begin collaboration to become the centralized resource for events in Northwest Connecticut.

Northwest Connecticut Arts Council is partnering with the Northwest Connecticut Economic Development Corporation (EDC) around the Discover Litchfield Hills (DLH) website. This project will involve fully integrating the DLH calendar system with the Arts Council’s website, as well as co-branding their monthly print calendar and weekly email newsletter.

The Arts Council will be launching its new website on June 1st, 2020 as part of this initiative. The integration of the DLH calendar in the NCAC website will further develop the infrastructure needed to make DLH a vibrant resource for the region. Arts, culture, and creative events will be filtered into the NCAC online calendar from the “Find the Arts” section of DLH’s website. Arts Council members will continue to have the benefit of listing their events once through the NCAC website to be included in both the Arts Council and DLH calendars.

“This integration is a major step forward in creating a centralized events platform for our region, and we are excited for the positive impact that it will have on the arts and culture community in NWCT,” says Steph Burr, Executive Director of the Arts Council.

The partnership is a significant pillar of NCAC’s strategic plan, as well as the tourism focus area of the EDC’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Plan. The Arts Council is focusing on deep regional collaboration and economic development through the arts. This partnership is part of a larger year-long marketing and communication plan to highlight this collaboration, and increase brand awareness of both DLH and NCAC as a central sources of information for events in the region.
