Introducing the NWCT Artist Shop Directory

NWCT Arts Council • September 25, 2020

Explore over 250 local artist’s shops from the Litchfield Hills.

Announcing the NWCT Artist Shop Directory - a robust collection of e-commerce shops from local artists, artisans, and creators around the Litchfield Hills. The NWCT Arts Council has built this directory with the intention of promoting direct online buying of locally made art and creative products. This is part of the organization’s strategy to help supplement income for artists who have lost revenue from COVID-19 and to stimulate the local economy.

There are over 250 e-commerce shops by creative businesses and artists to explore. The shop directory features original art, prints, furniture, home decor, band merchandise, jewelry, pottery, stationery, literature/books, apparel, bath & herbal products, and artists taking commissions.

Artists and creative businesses are encouraged to apply to be included in the Shop Directory online. Shop Directory applications will be sent to the Arts Council staff for approval. There is also an FAQ to assist with any questions or concerns. Applicants should refer to the FAQ before applying if they have any questions about the NWCT Artist Shop Directory guidelines.

The Arts Council will market and promote the NWCT Artist Shop Directory on all social media platforms, email, in print advertisements, radio advertisements, video promotions and more. Promotion of the Shop Directory and individual listings will be provided as a free service through the end of 2020 to help local artists whose sales and engagement were severely affected by COVID-19.

The development and promotion of the NWCT Artist Shop Directory is part of a larger project in collaboration with the NWCT Economic Development Corporation. Funding for this project has been provided in part through the Economic Development Administration's CARES Act Economic Development District Supplemental Disaster Recovery Award.
