Harwinton Illustrator Selected to Compete in Beeple's Digital Art Death Match

Ethan S. Brewerton will represent NWCT at Beeple's Digital Art Death Match.

Ethan S. Brewerton, an illustrator from Harwinton has been selected from a global pool of applicants to participate in the highly anticipated Digital Art Death Match hosted by renowned NFT artist Beeple. The event is scheduled to take place on May 4th, 2024, at Beeple Studio in Charleston, South Carolina.


Ethan is best known for his groundbreaking work as the founder of Mecha Chaotic, a generative NFT project that debuted on the Ethereum blockchain in 2021. His innovative contributions to notable NFT projects such as Neo Tokyo, Kaiju Kings, and others have solidified his reputation as a leading figure in the digital art sphere. Locally, he is a member of the Five Points Artist Launchpad program. Ethan’s unique blend of illustration talent and forward-thinking approach to art and technology will be showcased in the live contest, which challenges participants to create digital art using Photoshop and Cinema 4D under the watchful eyes of the art world.

Beeple, the contest host, gained international acclaim when his "Everydays" collage sold for $69 million in 2021, marking a monumental moment in NFT history. About the selection process for the Digital Art Death Match, Beeple expressed in a tweet, “Massive thank you to everyone who submitted work for our next event at Beeple studios!!!! We had over 600 amazing submissions so this was a tough one!!!!”


Ethan S. Brewerton expressed his enthusiasm about being chosen for this unique opportunity, stating, “After being a fan of Beeple’s work for so many years it’s completely surreal to be invited to create art, live at one of his events.”
