Farm to Table: A look back 100 years
The Colebrook Historical Society invites you to a social gathering, featuring a presentation by our special guest, Executive Director of the Norfolk Historical Society, Barry Webber. Barry will share his extensive knowledge of the role food played in the waging and winning of WWI. Though formal rationing was not in place, all of America, from cities to farmland, contributed food to send to our boys "Over There". Learn about "No Bread Tuesdays" and "Meatless Wednesdays" and the many hours spent canning everything that could be canned to help our troops. Barry has scrapbooks from the time, as well as unique photographs and cookbooks. We'll be offering refreshments, including desserts from this historical time.
