Metal Sculpture by Don Protzmann
The metal sculptures of Don Protzmann are on display at the Harwinton Public Library through February 28th.
Don's process includes using vintage tools, car parts, transmissions, farm implements and a variety of metal objects. Don brings life to these artifacts that have already served their purpose and have long since retired. He welds them together to form a sculpture that comes alive with emotion and thought.
"My first piece of art was a nutcracker that I built and designed as a Christmas present for my wife, Peggy. It was made from a small vise, some hammerheads and two discarded axles. The gift was received with such acclaim that I was encouraged to create more sculpture." -- Don Protzmann
